Oral Sedation
Oral sedation is a light form of sedation dentistry which can be beneficial for patients with mild anxiety or apprehension. The doctor will prescribe an oral medication which is to be taken one hour before your procedure. Patients will remain awake and responsive, and are able to breathe on their own, but feel a sense of relaxation throughout the entire procedure. Patients typically recover from mild oral sedation within a few hours after the procedure is complete, but it is important that they do not drive to their appointment or for the remainder of the day afterewards.
